Nay Pyi Taw – Myanmar was host to a US-sponsored two-day workshop on commercial law development. Conducted on November 20-21, the workshop demonstrated how commercial law leads to inclusive and sustained economic growth. Opening the event, the Attorney General emphasized the importance of commercial law development for Myanmar’s development plans. By the end of the workshop, participants had a better understanding of commercial law and the reforms required to improve the current system. The seminar was especially beneficial as it focused on lessons from other commercial law development projects in other ASEAN countries such as Vietnam and Lao PDR.
