2021 YSEALI Seeds for the Future – Projects

The YSEALI Seeds for the Future Small Grants Competition awarded 26 projects in 2021 as part of its seventh YSEALI Seeds cohort. Check out the projects here:

Accessed Educators: This project believed in a post-COVID education system that centers around technology-enhanced and student-centered approaches that offered flexibility and a more personalized learning environment.

Hub R Sar: This project aimed to support young leaders from four provinces in Laos with six-days project management skills training to build strong teamwork.

Youth in Action for Youth Budget: This project aimed to mobilize youth’s engagement in the formulation of the Executive Budget Proposal (EBP) for the fiscal year 2022 in Vietnam.

Kilang ReRoot: This project aimed to tackle food waste using the three pillars of sustainability: reducing food waste (environment) by engaging multiple sectors of the Bruneian community (society) and creating opportunities for local businesses through food upcycling projects (economy). Kilang ReRoot focused on efficient management in every stage of the food cycle, with an emphasis on waste recovery to prevent food waste from being dumped in landfills.

Project Kayamanan: Project Kayamanan provided online peer financial coaching sessions to public senior high school students in the Philippines as well as individual coaching sessions for students with families needing personal financial advice. Project Kayamanan sought to impart fun, simple, creative, and interesting financial education to high school students so that they could teach what they learned to their fellow peers.

PantiCT: This project aimed to develop IT knowledge in orphanage residents in South Jakarta, Indonesia. The vision of PantiCT was represented in the motto ‘level up your skill and promote yourself to reach the infinity world’. With three respective programming sessions, ‘level up’, ‘promote up’, and ‘reach infinity’, PantiCT provided tech-based training with professional mentors and company visits to get the orphans interested in basic IT skills, introduced innovation challenges, and showcased the program results.
