Ambassador Carden spoke to an enthusiastic audience of 70 students in the second cohort of the Brunei-U.S. English Language Program at the University of Brunei Darussalam. Representing nine different ASEAN countries, this group is composed of teachers, government workers and diplomats who engaged the Ambassador with questions on ASEAN integration, education, human trafficking, U.S.-ASEAN engagement, and their pending trip to Hawaii for the second part of the 12-week program. Myanmar’s SOM Leader Aung Lyn and Ambassador Minh Lwin joined the conversation and emphasized the importance of programs like this for enhancing understanding and solving problems.
