In ASEAN cities, ‘waste management’ is persistently cited as the top challenge faced by local governments. In the latest edition of InnovASEAN, guest blogger Shom Teoh from the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies in Japan discusses three cities in ASEAN – Surabaya (Indonesia), Muangklang (Thailand), and North Kuching (Malaysia) – and how they are using innovation to deal with their organic waste challenge.
