Research Topic: Transmission of U.S. monetary policy shocks on ASEAN Countries

Research Updates:

International transmission of U.S. monetary policy is playing an important role in macroeconomic fluctuations in ASEAN countries and it is gaining significant attention from researchers and policy makers. There exists wide debate over the extent of the transmission of U.S. monetary policy shocks to the rest of the global economy, especially to ASEAN country economies. There is an array of literature on the effects of U.S. monetary policy on developed and developing countries. However, those studies focus primarily on Latin American and emerging markets’ impacts on the rest of the global economy. The impact of U.S monetary policy gains little attention. The aim of this paper is to attempt to answer the following questions: How do U.S. monetary shocks affect macroeconomic variables in ASEAN countries?. The impact of U.S. monetary shocks affect on macroeconomic variables are different by countries, the depending on the degree of linkage with U.S economy.

Continuity from Initial Research:

The impact of U.S. monetary shocks affect on macroeconomic variables in ASEAN countries are still debating. Different approach and macroeconomic variables will lead to different results. Therefore, I will use other approach to investigate detailed impact of U.S. monetary shocks on ASEAN economy.
