AHA Center Begins Training with Center for Excellence

Group Photo (Mission Image)Jakarta – Trainers from the PACOM Center for Excellence in Disaster Management & Humanitarian Assistance (CFE-DMHA), Marine Corps Forces Pacific, and the Marine Corps University began a five-day training seminar on management planning for the ASEAN Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Center). In opening remarks, Ambassador Carden recognized the importance of the people on the ground, like the AHA Center, that are responsible for disaster response and preparedness. AHA Center Director Said Faisal warmly welcomed and thanked the Ambassador for the U.S. Mission to ASEAN’s role in coordinating the workshop, which is the first of five training exercises for the AHA Center by the CFE-DMHA this fiscal year.
